The flow is a short set of questions. What is the occasion - a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding, a thank-you, or nothing in particular? Who is it for - a partner, a parent, a friend, a grandparent? What should it sound like, and whose voice should sing it? Then the part that decides everything: what do you actually know about them. The nickname nobody outside the family uses. The argument you both still laugh about. Vague answers make a generic song; specific ones make a person hear themselves.
